Instructor Devlopment

At Working at Height Limited we will develop your personal instructing skills and learn how to manage training sessions. Work at Height Safety training is high risk training, We will teach the fundamental steps to take and teach you industry best practice.  There will be plenty of feedback from course instructors who will give you advice and guidance on your personal progression. This Instructor devlopment course is step one in becoming an instructor. 

This course is designed to develop an understanding of the methodologies and processes available to approach to Professional Skills Based Training Delivery and Evaluation. We will do this by equipping the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence in Training Delivery and Evaluation through planning, design, delivery, assessment and evaluation.

Specifically the programme covers the concepts and theories of delivery and evaluation and understand how this is applied to ensure effectiveness of a training session. We will explore the legislation associated with ensuring equality and fairness for all trainees regardless of their ethnic background or disability.

We will also take a look at evaluation models, approaches, techniques and tools as well as a range of training aids and will explore how to approach the provision of constructive feedback to participants as well as specialised training delivery and evaluation skills. Finally we will review the training evaluation process.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 5 Certificate / Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) or relevant life experience detailed in a current Curriculum Vitae. Please provide details and attach a copy of either a current CV or Certificate.
  • You will be required to deliver one 45-minute session with a minimum of three participants in the session. You must be either working or have access to an organisation where you can complete this (this can be on a voluntary basis).
  • As this NFQ level 6 qualification is delivered through English it is necessary learners will have sufficient written English skills to complete this course.
  • A basic working knowledge of computers in addition to a computer with internet access and word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word or Google Docs) is required to do the course.
  •  This course can be delevered in other languages by request only.

Certification and Accreditation: On successful completion of this Working at Heights Instructor course, candidates will receive a Working at Height Instructor Certificate valid for 3 years.

Assessment Method

  • This course is assessed through a Project, Learner Record and Skills Demonstration. The Skills Demonstration will require participants to deliver one 45-minute training session in their chosen organisation. Participants will be required to record a 15-minute training segment which will be delevered to Working at Height Limited Master Instructor Trainer (MIT).
  • As part of our quality assurance, assessment work will be marked by an Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) Assessor, then checked by an Master Instructor Trainer (MIT) Verifier.

Resource Material:

This includes comprehensive course manuals, videos, quizzes and access to your Tutor. You will also be able to upload assessments online and receive Tutor feedback. You can use the eLearning system from any computer that has internet access.

Post Training Support: We will provide post training support and advice to any or all candidate who may require it.

Transfer and Progression to Further Studies

Following successful completion, you will receive a Working at Height Limited Certificate of Competance in Authorised Instructor Certificate (AI). You may use this award to move on to Certified Training Professional and Management (CTPM). The Certified Professional in Training for Management (CTPM) program is the only credential focused specifically on the role of the training Business Owner/Manager.

As a CTPM, you will gain the skills needed to manage corporate training programs that align with your company’s goals – now and in the future. You will develop core competencies that will allow you to demonstrate your expertise in training management and impact change across the business. In this course there is 9 main Modules with 57 submodules collectively in the entire course.
