Ladder Inspection

Ladder Inspection training is aimed at ladder equipment users who are trained and competent in the use of the equipment which they wish to inspect.  This training programme is designed to take account of Local legislation, and can be delivered appropriate to the country in which the client is operating in.

Many current EU, UK, USA & Canadain regulations, require all personal protective equipment (PPE) and working at height equipment to be inspected at regular intervals by a ‘Competent person’.

This Ladder  inspectoion course is designed to give each delegate the knowledge and skills to form a judgement on the condition of an item of Fixed, Leaning, “A” Frame Ladder equipment and determine if it is serviceable.

This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for the inspection and assessment of the condition of Ladders and Step Ladders in the workplace.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Complete  check of Ladder equipment, in a systematic manner and according to manufacturers’ instructions
  • Inspect Ladders according to the ladder equipment standard.

  • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and relevant equipment standards in the Republic of Ireland UK, Canada and United States of America.
  • Compliance with ladder manufacturers guidelines and to inspect their equipment at intervals set out in current legislation.
  • Thorough Examination of Fixed, Leaning & “A” Framed Ladders.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for any person inspecting Ladders as part of there day to day work. This course has the skills that will enable them to inspect any Ladders using the Full Life Inspecting Method for Ladders.

Certification & Assessment

Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a Working at Height Limited Certificate in Ladder Inspection Competent Person.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered by a QQI Level 6 Certified instructor, Agored Cymru – Train the Trainer & Ofqual Certified Level 3 Train the Trainer.
