Working AT Height – Academy ™  are proud to introduce our Wind Turbine Generator First Aid With Emergency Trauma at Height Course for your convenience.

Course Aim:  This course designed to provide personnel with the basic skills that will enable them to work in a safe manner in Wind Turbine Generators and to meet emergency response training requirements. This two-day training course (one of four modules) focuses on the access and egress conditions of a Wind Turbine Generators environment. Following this lesson plan for working at height and Rescue, participants receive the necessary knowledge and skills through theory and practical training to use basic PPE and perform safe work at height and safe comprehensive rescue from heights in a remote Wind Turbine Generator environment.

Learning Outcome

  • knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at height, specific to the environment,
  • understanding of current national legislation regarding work at heights,
  • correct identification of PPE (including identification of all legislated labeling and markings),
  • knowledge and skills necessary to correctly inspect, maintain, store, and don the relevant PPE,
  • demonstrate the first principles (correct use) of the relevant PPE, including identification of correct anchor points and correct ladder conduct,
  • the correct use on evacuation devices
  • how to approach rescue situations in wind turbines and use rescue equipment efficiently.
  • Proficient High Performance First Aid.
  • Site self-sufficiency when responding to trauma at height.
  • Increased ability for fast effective response
  • Rendering aid in an emergency situation at height.
  • Implementing a rescue procedure effectively within Incident Command (IC) protocol
  • Emergency Preparedness and response onsite

Course duration: This is a three-day course for experienced trainers with an existing training qualification.

Certified PPE is required for this course.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for any person entering a Wind Turbine Generator as part of there day to day work. This course has the minimum basic skills that will enable them to work in a safe manner in Wind Turbine Generators and to meet emergency response training requirements.

Certification & Assessment

Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a Working at Height Limited Certificate in Wind Turbine Generator Work at Height & Rescue.

  1. 20 Multiple Choice Questions.
  2. Practical Skills Assessment

Course Delivery

This course is delivered by a QQI Certified instructor, Ofqual Certified Instructor, in Train the Trainer & in Ireland a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council First Aid Responder Certified Instructor, HSI Certified Instructor in Basic Life Support, Adult & Pediatric Instructor.
