What type of MEWPs are covered under Working at Height Academy MEWP Training?
MEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms, which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform / Cherry Picker. Working at Height Adcdemy focuses on type 1B at this moment in time.

This course is intended for people who wish to receive the theory and practical skills required for 1B MEWP Operator.

Course Participation Method?

Assessment Process:

Written Examination: The candidate must carry out a written examination of MEWP Machine.  Harness training will be carried out on the same day as a Working at Height Academy MEWP course.

Practical Skills Assessment: The candidate must carry out a practical test on 1B machine

Who Should Attend?

Those attending work at height using a catagory 1B MEWP on a day to day bases, The candidate must be medically fit to carry out the practical part of the course and free from medical contra-indications that may prevent them from working safely at height.

Working at Height Limited are a Quality Assured Training Provider (QATP).

All our trainers have completed the following:

QQI Level 6, EQF 5 Train the Trainer (6N3326 Certificate Award)

All Instructors have been Trained and assessed in there of subject matter expertise by a third party assessor as part of Working at Height Limited Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Working at Height Group Training Courses

All Working at Height Group training exercises are implemented under a “Knowledge, Skills and Attitude Based Evolution Process” which the delegate experiences as a layering approach.

All training can be conducted in accordance with the following Legislations;

(IE) Ireland – HSA Guidance on the Management of Manual Handling in the Workplace

Note:

Students must be medically and physically fit to do doffing and donning of PPE.

All training programs are structured upon a pass or fail determination criteria and are in accordance with MEWP Operator Criteria for accepted practices in safety, health, and environmental training  and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Evaluation

All Delegates will be evaluated in accordance with local legislation and Guidelines on the main objectives for RMobile Elevated Platforms. 

Working at Height limited practical training exercises are implemented under a “Skills Based Evolution Process” which the student experiences as a layering approach, where by a basic foundation is established and through reaffirmation and confirmation additional practical skills are applied to effectively demonstrate and apply through hands on experiences the complexities of work at height achieving success through confidence by all who participate.

Reaffirmation through testing is applied with the addition of correction to 100%. This unique philosophy in learning ensures all incorrectly answered test questions are tabled under whole group discussion to ensure maximum retention and understanding by all students.
